Hi

I'm wondering how much the average Land Rover specialists garage would charge for a passenger side outrigger replacement for my 1993 Defender? Could anyone give me a rough price I'll be looking at?

Thank you
Chris

Depends wether they like you or not. They can pretty much charge whatever they want. You can probably buy a welder and do it yourself for less than some garages will charge.

bought outriggers from brookwells for my 87lr90 and they were 30summin each.
I did buy a welder and try to patch them myself, but FAILED! as you need a garage to mig weld.
Soon gave up trying to weld them myself and got my mate to do it.
to weld x2 bulkhead outriggers, rear crossmember and a patch where my tubular gearbox crossmember sits, cost me 200 notes.
I did do some of the work myself.
Out riggers are cheap, welding costs.

thanks for the replies. i've got it booked in to a Landy specialist called Keith Gott in hampshire to do, I've been there a few times for work in the past few years. I asked was it worth just patching it, but their mechanic said no way it needs replacing.
They said £225 in total to weld the brand new outrigger in, which I didn't think was too bad at all. I do highly recommend Keith Gott, they have been around for about 35 years and really do know what they are talking about - they won't rip you off, they are honest and if they say something needs doing you can believe it does.

really?!
so £30 for the part. £195 for labour! at £35 an hour which is what alot of garages charge that means they think it will take 5.5 hours. mmm. they work slow!!
