Hi Just bought a second-hand Freelander (facelift 2004). It only came with one key and one immobiliser. The local LR dealership want to charge me £200 for an additional key and immobiliser. No wonder they are having problems selling stock.Any ideas where I can get an additional key and fob at a more realistic price.   Worcester area.

Either contact the previous owner (on logbook) and ask for it - or take it back to the stealer and demand yo money back - bet they will find a key then.

Frankly then, you're a dick.

Why buy any vehicle these days without first doing a little homework and at least getting the seller to get the extra key etc, or at least getting the 'proper' price knocked off?

It's a buyers market, so unless this has something you absolutely must have TODAY, RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW, you can afford to wait a little and/or get money knocked off.

Key fobs these days are 'intelligent' (for various values of intelligent) kit, and as such aren't just a key anymore and thus cost a fair wedge. Don't moan at the dealers for your own incompetence and lack of research into what you're spending your money on.

Yeah ... got a trapped nerve in me neck and in feckin' agony ... but I get sick of dickwads screwing up then publicly bleating it's someone elses fault.

but he dint bleat it's someone elses fault. - he just said "Any ideas where I can get an additional key and fob at a more realistic price."

Mind you he dint say what he would consider a more realistic price. Maybe he aught to give us an idea?

"Outrageous" .. "No wonder they have problems selling stock" .. "more realistic price" .. "   "

Sounds like bleating to me ...

:hysterically_laughi

wait till he finds out the price of a new VCU or IRD - that will make him sit up ;).

hope yu got a thick skin and even thicker wallet. :dnfnoob:

Hello Cleanlegs and welcome....

My advice, take it back and get your money back. Or sell it on eBay if they won't take it. Go and buy a '95(ish) Disco and spend the difference on toys and beer.

Job done.

Welcome Cleany, Just ignore the tractor ****s, they're just jealous that your excellent Freelander comes with a key. Makes a change from the toggle switch & starting handle eh guys.............................HaHaHa
