I have never said I am clever enough to do it - nor have I said I want to
try.
BUT the oeople we have doing the job at present are not doing it either -
the difference is that they are being paid a lot of money to underachieve.
The tasks of a Govt are perhaps impossible to fully achieve and we should
aim for as near as we can get - but if what we have at the moment is as near
as we can get we need new people doing it - many other counytries very near
to home are getting nearer than we are at the moment so it is possible to be
better than we are at the moment.
If you ( or most on this NG ) were caught stealing from work. or proven to
be incompetent. you would be dismissed without doubt and have no integrity
( or references ) to show for it. Why should a disgraced Minister be given
the chance that no other person would get?
The opposition parties at the moment are weak which is not helping the
situation but IMHO this Govt' will enter the history books as one of the
worst of recent British history....
