Hello everryone,
After flipping my 90 over the insurance has been kind enough to pay me a nice little amount. However i feel like having some more comfort.
Im struggling to choose between an LPG l322, a diesel l322 td6 and a RRC 300 tdi. I rather like the thought of the opulence the l322 provides but the simplicity of the RRC also appeals. Any help will be very well helpful

What age? The classic will be cheapest to maintain as long as you can weld. On the other hand if you flipped a 90 the L322 will be safer for you to drive.

The Classic No question.. ;)

Beautiful character filled machines, they do like to rust, but they are a breath of fresh air regarding simplicity, :)

L322 diesel if you like changing gearboxes.

L322 LPG if you want comfort but don't mind springing for expensive parts.

P38 if you want something tough comfy cheap on parts (Thor engine on LPG if you want something with a bit poke and cheap to run)

Classic if you are a dab hand at welding and cutting out rust

I've got 2 classics a p38 and an L322

They are getting few and far between.

The classics went up finding one drivable and in good condition will cost a bit. viable restos are very thin on the ground and it will need a lot of work. some parts are also starting to get tricky. Especially for the 2 door.

If you go P38 the bosch injection has a bit of poke to it. On LPG it's cheap to run. But good unmolested ones are getting harder to find now.

The L322 diesel has a cheese gearbox. the petrol ones are good. if it has water in the boot walk away. the L322 is very electronic heavy more so than the P38. diagnostics is important for both L322 and P38 as a number of ECUs control various aspects and a standard code reader just won't give you access to know what's going wrong.

In a nod to the classics lineage, land rover made the L322 rustable. which they neglected to do with the P38

If it was me I would have a classic, obviously.
But I paid over the odds to get a rust free chassis etc. My biggest problem is that a 30 year old is always rewarding me with just a bit more work to fix the next thing that has worn out due to age. Bit like me really, so can't complain.
But on the other hand so many people stop me and say nice things about her, (and it is deffo 100% fecking female.)

Bet she gets jealous and starts playing up if you look at another Range Rover
