Borrowed the battery off my disco before it froze and like a noob shut the bonnet and locked the car (just incase any thieves brought along their own battery) Now my locks have froze i cant get in it  , is there an easy-ish way to open the bonnet from the outside (with man hands) so i can put the battery back on and use the fob.

Plus is the key i used to lock it definitely the key to unlock it? what i mean is its not like a ford is it, where any ford key locks any ford car?

PS i've tried de-icer in the locks for about 2 hours last night

too true, u reckon its possible to open it or am i ****in up a rope?

get a hot air gun/hair drier on the door lock - or wait a few hours until the sun warms it all up and open it using the key

patience patience

Get a cheap lighter and heat the end of the key up! Not so quick or hot that you melt the plastic bits tho!

Go slow and give it some time and it will fit in fine. The fun then starts as you try to turn the key! Heat it some more and try WD40 in the hole.

Dont force it tho.

dont ask how I know ( I did the very same last year) but if you lie underneath the front end and locate the live feed to the starter motor and attach a jump lead to this then attach the other jump lead to a good solid earth somewhere else then attach said jump leads to a battery you should after much feccking about and questioning the parentage of the disco designer manage to get enough juice into the electrical system to fire the central locking - other varients include managing to reach the free +ve bttery terminal from underneath cos you'vr got arms like the proverbial librarian.

Sorted it took me about 20 seconds literally! with a wire coat hanger (no Manc comments!) and about 4 hours to find someone with one, but it really was that easy! Getting in the doors btw, popped bonnet from inside

Hi use a jump lead and connect your battery to earth underneath then attach a lead just a length of wire will do to live of battery and put your hand up from under engine and touch the live power lead that is attached to starter (the one that goes back to battery box) and as soon as you have made contact press the central locking fob if you cant get your hand up far enough use a metal rod ie welding rod coat hanger etc, insulate it with tape leaving just the tip bear this will put power in the system I have done this myself when a battery went completely flat and key wouldnt turn because locks had never been used manually for so long.

Not wishing to point out the ovbious but have you tried all the doors ? When my front doors have been frozen solid i've usually been able to open the boot door.
