after all the work you put into it as well paul,oh well you have a tratter now,so all you need now is a pig and you will be set.keep the disco,it will give you something to do when you have finished tarting up the tratter.

Good to see you're back on the road Paul. Hope the disco gets back on the road but while it's off it's worth trying the disco seats in the fender. Probably one of the preferred mods I did to my 90

Im a tratter fan though and thetas a great colour. Don't see many that colour.

Looks good, you might miss the Discovery on Frosty cold mornings, but the rest of the time, probably not. Handy source of axles and engine for a future upgrade of the 90, if you go that way. Looking forward to pics.

Following on from this thread (sorry only a recent member) looks like you had a lucky escape last year, hope you are well and that your new project comes together.
Part of my work is flood warning and the other part training Fire guys etc in Swiftwater rescue.

This is a perfect example of getting caught out by relatively benign looking conditions by the sound and is exactly the kind of thing i have to explain many times when delivering courses!

Paul, would you be happy for me to PM you regarding some further information regarding the incident?

Further to this I am going to look into the possibility of having my details added to the LZIR page as I may have skills to offer for recoveries from water in future.

Yes it certainly will, I will PM you in a bit. In the mean time if you are still trying to get the interior clean/fresh Trigene (disinfectant vets use!) is a good shout. I use it after working in mucky water/sewers/floods..........

Well .. I still have the Disco, it's now more a long term project. Something like a 100" trialler/ccv/winch challenge 'thing' will emerge at some point ..

The Defender's given me a right kick to get it sorted quickly and some inspiration to do something with, rather than scrap, the Disco.

Not so much the flat tyre, but the comments following it!

Strangely enough, my O/S front tyre had also deflated overnight... Pumped it back up, drove to work, took the wheel off at lunchtime and could not see anything untoward in the tread. It has been fine since (2 days now). I did notice that the valve has a bit of a "hair trigger", I gently nudged it with the dustcap and it started leaking... Seems OK after a good blast of air out of it

Heh, just took it off and it's only the bead needs re-sealing. Not enough time to do it now, back to work in a few minutes, but it'll get done tonight or tomorrow.

I was hoping it was the valve .. Now I'll have to use the Hi-lift and manual labour to re-seat it

Hairspray .. Used to use it to seat handlebar grips on Enduro bikes .. when I had knees ..

Vulcanises the rubber slightly, makes it slightly softer, slightly stickier, but I ain't ever tried it on vehicle tyres before, so it's gonna be a test.

Juliet doesn't know who's hairspray .. suffice to say, my hair is short ..

I've just read the whole lot and was getting quite into the disco resurrection, good to see you're all good now!
