Me baby's gearbox has gone and gone bang!!
What betterer place than at a T junction at the top of a bluddygert hill!!
No drive at all, so I don't think it's a half shaft, unless they go front and back at the same time!
Rolled back around a mile with the engine running, with no crunchy-grindy noises from anywhere, but I still had brakes and steering.
I'm currently waiting for her to be recovered and towed to my local garage for fixing, because I'm not allowed to do anything at the moment!
I will keep you informed, or failing that, I'll just spout away on here so that I can read it at my leisure!
BTW, she's a 1989 2.5 N/A 110 Hard Top, and she ain't for sale!!!

High, Low, Difflock High, Difflock Low, no noise and no drive!
I initially thought that it had somehow dropped out of high range into neutral, and waggled the stick around to no avail :eek:

Layshaft popped ?

Edded to ask; R380 orLT77 ?

Stripped splines on the gearbox output shaft ?

The list grows..

Linkage failed or output shaft sheered, lets hope its not the latter but 89 might have the none cross drilled input gear. No noise would suggest an external fault.

Thanks James, she's in the garage at the moment, so I'll be able to give her a good coating of looking at on Monday.
Hopefully, it's nothing too serious, or I'll have to start looking for replacements!
And thanks to you too Dips.
I hadn't even thought of that as she had a new heavy duty clutch fitted last year!!

Was it a britpart clutch by any chance?

I had a centre rip out a few years back, it had an intermittent failure , it would drive then let go then drive again, managed to get it 5 or 6 miles to a garage like this, the roundabout on the way was exciting! I guess I was just lucky it was able to catch and resume drive.

The garage told me I needed a new gearbox!
