only firing on 7!!!!

Dear all,
I have a problem with my V8 disco 1......it is only firing on 7 (and a V7 sounds bloody awfull!!!). It's no.1 and i have tracked it down to the fact there no power to the injector. Is this a common fault, could it be the ECU or a simple break in the wire somewhere? Details of vehicle... disco 1 1989 with range rover 1991 3.9 serp engine, still running on old 3.5efi brains,loom and airflow meter.

The injectors are wired in 2 banks, ie all the left injectors are on one circuit and all the right injectors on another.

YES they open in sets of four, and YES it does waste a lot of fuel!!

Anyway, if 1 ain't working, it's either a break in the wire or plug at that particular part of the injector loom, or it's the injector.

Swap number 1 and 3 injector and then see if cylinder 3 is misfiring.

If it is, it's your injector, if it ain't, it's your Cyl 1 wiring.
