Ongoing engine fault 4.6 v8

Well my dad owns a p38 ranger a while back we had probs where it was pressurising the system and boiling it's bag off.. Hmm head gasket we thought as you would. Took it to a garage (which I never liked as they're a bunch of plebs) took it apart did all the usual gumph boils even worse, speaking to other ppl they point the finger to liners as they are a common fault?? What in your opinions plz ppl fix it or find a new heart for it??? He's already spunked money up the wall on it doesn't really wanna part with the shell as he likes it so much and my fears is if we spend more on an already suspicious block well be back at square one again,,, being farmers we need a reliable beast to tow a 3.5t plated tri axle trailer to deliver stock when I am busy in the disco'

Shouldn't the buggerz have done all the other checks while they had it apart?

I would have thought you would have a good case for not paying anything if they haven't fixed the problem.
