Hi All,
Just thought I'd tip you all off.....
I went to look at the first defender of my new shopping spree.
I think "things can only get better" sums up my landy shopping after this first one:
Landrover 110 turbo diesel on eBay (end time 21-Jul-10 23:02:16 BST)
the chap told me on the phone that bulkhead and chassis were in good nick. the chassis looks like huge chunks were fixed by a 12 year old child with some tin snips and an arc welder.... the footwells are rotted out and covered (on the inside) with fibreglass. there is a perpetual oil leak all the way from the central brake drum to the front of the engine, so that's brake drum, transfer box, gear box, sump, rocker cover, etc.
The chap told me that if it reached £1800, he'd put 12 months MOT on it, and drop his 'spare' 200tdi engine into it for the buyer - I'd like the number of whatever garage would give that a 12 month ticket!
anyway, hope that helps someone out, one to avoid unless you're after it for the rust export market.
