Hell and o,
I recently bought this...
Amazon product
Not a bad price I thought.... Yeah until I received it.
If you go through the whole ad and look at the parts I actually received.
Some poor bugger will attach this to theirs or someone else's and this shackle will let go and hurt someone or cause damage... I do have my worries about the rope.... I thought places like Amazon wouldn't allow this to be sold but hey maybe they don't give a Fu k????

Photo shows no markings or any form of SWL on the shackles.
Probably fine for towing on the road, but not what I would use or buy.

Why did you buy it?

Cheers

Just for oiking dead cars into and out of the garage. I've got decent shackles and just wanted to replace my aging rope. The shackles came with the kit and are fit for the bin and will be binned!!

I have and I posted the pictures for others to see the reality of the shackles. I'm not so sure about using the rope tbh incase it damages someone's vehicle or I get hurt...
I've asked for a return and refund..
To be really honest I didn't notice the kit was coming from where it did and wouldn't have bought it.. My mistake :(

Incidentally, i bought an un certified strap with shackles to keep in the boot and never use. Suitably over sized so should be fine for pulling a car off a wet field etc. Wouldn't use in anger though. Wasn't that kind of price mind!

Helpful Hirings sell the real McCoy for not a lot of money. Dangerous place for your wallet when they're selling off old kit though. Mind you, you probably can't just wander in these days.

I refuse to buy from Amazon any more. They allow sellers to sell without recourse to refund or replace, outwith a two week period.
Happened to me for the second time in a year with Amazon. Bought an item fault presented 4 weeks after buying, tried to contact seller, no way to do so. Filled in Amazon contact us form , no reply. Searched listing for any way to speak to someone, anyone about issues: helpful link to manufacturer, although no way to contact seller. Tried Amazon again and got the 'we are not responsible for this seller's listings' response.
No matter how dodgy the Bay has been over the years, they have tried to sort their act out and at least take responsibility for all listings. As an example, I had a seller cancel an item last night, citing 'issues with delivery address'. They had not contacted me prior to cancelling, to see if,there was an issue. The address is the one I use without issue , on almost a weekly basis , from the Bay. So I contacted the bay and they called me back within 3 minutes. Apology given straight away, and assurance that action will be taken against seller. Each warning, on the system, against a seller, builds similar to driving licence points. Different sanctions, up to and including being booted off the platform can be applied.
I might not know what happens to matey from last night , but at least I had access to a complaints department. Unlike amazon

The bay is good, on the side of the consumer, I have always had a good result from them, If I ever get cr*p I send it back I don't care if its only £1 they won't get away with it, that's the only way to stop the Chinese from importing known rubbish and selling it to us
