Hi guys,

Some of you may remember the orange 90 build I started some years back. Unfortunately due to a divorce and other changes it was never finished and had to be sold.

Well I'm back again with a 110 300tdi. Picked it up a few weeks back now, so thought I better get some pictures up.

Cheers

Rich

Congratulations on your new life with your beautiful new LR. Remember that you, Rich, take LR to be your lawfully dependent owner, for better or for worse, for poorer and in deeper debt, in sickness and on the odd occasion that she runs smoothly, I promise never to buy inferior components, I pledge to stay away from those evil Japanees 4x4, till failing mot sunder us apart, and post lots of interesting news on Landyzone and get that tiny little split in the driver seat cover repaired as soon as possible

I have had chance to do a few bits (only a few by choice!)

Noticed a slight overheating issue appeared to be a small leak from bottom hose. New bottom hose on and whilst there water pump was noisy as fook so changed it out.

Bled coolant system overheating now worse! After wasted hours turned out to be HG. So head off skimmed and pressure tested. Thought I might as well do timing belt whilst in bits and a new aux belt.

All back together and running like a dream!!!!

Should say the information on this forum has been a godsend!

Few more bits achieved over the last few days (Pictures will follow I promise)

LED Side lights, indicators and tail lights fitted.
Black headlight surrounds (wasn't feeling the silver)
EGR Bypass fitted
Oil, Oil filter, air filter, and oil done
Diff oil done front and rear
Snorkel fitted correctly and a new pipe crafted to seal properly.
Airbox sealed for wading

Parts on order

LED Headlights
New Cooper STT Pro tyres
LED Roof Lights
Two black leather heated seats out of an RX8

Pictures and more to follow

OK so new copper stt tyres gone on today.

How wide!! Turning circle is non existent. I ended up with 265 75 16 to get that slightly wider look but man do these tyres come up large!

How are you guys getting round this? 30mm spacers?

Rich

Looking at it 30mm spacers would bring the tyres out nicely but I'm a bit skeptical on spacers if I'm honest.

I'll put some pics up in the morning.

It's a bit swings and roundabouts. You didn't start off with a great turning circle.

Spacers help but aren't cheap and increase pressure on bearings, not really a problem if you check regularly and use quality (timkin) replacements.

It's worth checking the stops to see if you have maximum lock.

Whether it's worth the trouble for 'the look' is a personal choice.
