Hi everyone,
Picked up a 1996 90 a few weeks back and its been keeping me busy!
I've used the forum quick a bit so far but i'm getting to the issues the search button can't help with so i thought i would introduce myself before i start firing out the questions!
I've always had something to tinker with and enjoy and a couple of years ago i got a grand vitara to how i wanted it for shooting with, suspension, wheels and tires, redid the interior, made the front and back winch bumpers etc and raptor painted it.
Once i had finished it and used it for a few months i had someone pass out at the wheel and we had a head on meaning that was a right off.
Insurance paid out well and i got my defender!
I've made a good start sorting out the niggles and making the changes i want.
First thing was to get a shooting hatch cut in the roof which is working great, i've made a front winch bumper and currently half way through designing the back one.
I've put an auxiliary fuse box in for all the lights and sockets and got that all wired in nice and neat and i've retrimmed the front seats and fitted a cubby box.
Still lots left to do, suspension needs redoing, not sure if i will keep it standard or add a bit yet, brakes will need doing fairly soon as well the the swivels rebuilding then i will start on stopping the 300tdi leaking so much
