Evening gents,

I recently got my first disco-a m reg 1995, that seems to be a good one. Well maintained and with 114 on the clock.

I'm just moving from London to brighton and will be working in London.

My thoughts are- do you think that with a vehicle of this age, doing a few hundred miles a week is realistic? Do think I'm asking for trouble? Your thoughts will be appreciated

My disco L reg with 192000miles does several hundred a week no problem, had the odd issue but its never stopped me getting to or from work!

Mines done 209 th miles still starts on the button every day, recently went to torbay for a laning weekend with no problems, just keep the servicing up

Did 1000 miles + over Easter in my 97 D1 auto (172k) - never missed a beat.

Just hope the new D2 is as reliable. Which reminds me, I really should put the other one up for sale - its kinda harder to do than I thought!

I use my disco 1 300 TDI to do 200 miles a week, no problems so far. This weekend I am taking it to southampton which will be a 250 mile round trip. I use it as my every day transport, and love every mile of it!

Bought mine a year ago with 152k on the clock. Had basic servicing for 12 months, through its mot no problem. Used as my works hack and weekend plaything and not let me down yet :bounce:

as already mentioned, keep up the servicing(do not cheap skate on parts) they will last well. we only do about 400 450 mls a month but no trouble (so far):rolleyes:

I use my old n reg with 230 on the clock for multi drop and long range courier work. I regularly do close to 900 miles a week. As for reliabilty. Well things break occasionally. I seem to be going through a stage where various hoses are failing. But generally shes a realiable cheap to run truck

My 95 D1 is proving much more reliable than my D3. I tow 3 tons weight hundreds of miles several times a year. Never misses a beat but I service it properly too.

Had mine almost 4 years now 1997 300tdi auto and done 151,000 and its just let me down for the first time, and I cant fix it, looks like it may be the diesel pump.

I have got to bite the bullet and pay to have it diagnosed as all my efforts have failed and I am expecting a big bill :(

my 92 disco 1 has 138,00 its been looked after by the previus owner so i try to do the same maintance and a good service when needed and has never missed a beat. you watch sods law and all that:D
