I went to start my 300 tdi Disco up this morning and as usual it started fine.
Went to drive off and a cloud of oily smoke followed me up the road,
This did not cleared even after 5 minutes of driving it around, the smoke just got thinner and still smelling of oil.
Has anyone got any ideas what it could be?
I thought it could be the head gasket but now think it might be the turbo, how can I tell which one it is?
Many thanks for any advise before i take it to garage.

check your turbo on the output side so remove the turbo to intercooler hose, checking for oil. sometimes a blocked breather can course it, aswell as vavle stem seals and rings.
This was my car before I rebuilt the engine. My turbo bearing had failed sending swarf through everything.
