So ive had the 300tdi a good few months and promised my self if she goes through the mot okid start spending money on her a caring more for her, so she got her 12 month ticket on the 4th with a advisory of front pads waring thin.

I suppose at this point I have my haynes manual and the advantage of being ok with spanners (eg changed filters, disc and stuff in the past) so the real question was...

Clutch and brake fluid is that the same as there both dot4
And the transmisson, transfer gearbox and both axels the 3use the same oil right?

I just wanted to double check before I #### some thing up lol.

If I get too stuck my mate a mechanic but I don't want to bother him all the time as im wantinh to learn more about my truck then let others do it for me

I've used same on clutch and brake fluid

I asked the same question here is a response I had from thebiglad (forum member)

You'll need 6 ltrs of EP 75 or 80w - 90, to GL4 or 5. That's enough for the 2 diffs and transfer box.

Re the main box, LR now recommend MTF94; they used to recommend atf Dexron IID. It's not a big deal which one you put in, it's MUCH more important that it is changed regularly. I do ours every 6 months unless we've been wading in which case they are changed after the wading.

Good clean oil is THE most important protection for your vehicle.

Re engine oil you'll need at least 7 ltrs of oil - I use a semi-synth of 10w-40 B3 standard.

Don't forget to change all your filters; the coolant; the brake fluid - so that you start off knowing all is good.

So don't put in the same oil in your gearbox as the transfer box, I think it's because the transfer box is basically a diff. And the gears aren't changed very often, unlike being changed all the time in a gearbox.
