Looked under the discovery and noticed oil all over th inside of the wheel, guessing half shaft oil seal ?? Anyone come across this??? Many thanks

swivel seal has gone, this then usually leads to a new swivel ball, wheel bearing, more cash, oh look my calliper is a little seized, more cash, hey my ventilated disc is a bit rusty, more cash, until you have replaced everything to do with the drive line, suspension and steering. Oh wait, was the radiator looking a little corroded down the bottom? More cash. Or just get some one shot grease and pop it in the top plug on the hub and look at nothing else whilst your under there.

Hi Monkey,
Front or rear? Do a search on this topic and you'll see that there is apparently a problem with the replacement oil seals. They have been made the wrong size. The member Ferry has done a lot of research.

Its the front, thanks for that, if the breather was blocked would it get forced out? Also the level is still spot on?

Unfortunately a real saga with these seals, no matter which brand all available in UK are wrong from factory... get which ever you want and measure it's ID with caliper, if it's 35 or so dont even fit it cos it will leak in no time, i replaced a dozen untill i've got the mud shields machined down to fit the seals

read everything in this thread Australian Land Rover Owners

Another quick thing I cleaned all the inside of the wheel where it was covered in oil and around the hub etc and drove it all day yesterday and no more oil has leaked??.must I add the oil level is spot on so its not empty haha
