Hi does anyone know what temperature the oil is when running in a 2.5 diesel,I want to change the pipes to the cooler ,and was considering using compression fittings to the the original steel pipes. Then I would not need to replace the oil cooler. Any thoughts?

I appreciate that, thats why I want to use hydraulic compression fittings, they will handle the pressure, but I am not convinced that the seals will handle the temperature. Thanks

Hydraulic systems get pretty hot in use, temp should not be a problem.

On may race car, I and most of the others simply used Jubilee clips to secure the cooler pipes, never had a problem. Irishrover wrote about it some time ago.

jubilee clips are more than adequate for engine oil pressure, temp of oil in engine is about as hot as engine is 90 degrees or there about just ensure you use an oil cooler hose
