It’s a right pain but Just as a further test to make Sure it’s not voltage related ie when alternator revs and opputs More volts in , can you slacken off belt till alternator does not turn then start engine up

Good idea - or hook it up to a different (stable) 12V supply.
On the other hand, the temp sensor/gauge seem to read correctly, and this would be connected to the same power line as the oil sensor...
 
It’s a long shot I know , perhaps the sensors have different sensitivity to voltage changes
Yes A stable 12 v Supply if you have one same effect
 
It has been a while... But I just finally gotten around to installing a mechanical manometer, and unfortunately it confirms the measurement - the pressure with the PRV closed goes to beyond 10 bars! (see attached photo)
I guess I will drop the sump again and remove all the bearings to check for mistakes. Even if the PRV should open (and might, just not enough), this for sure is not the only problem, and also not my main problem, on the contrary...
