How is the best way to connect an oil pressure gauge? Just got a dual input gauge like this:

Put a T into the port where the stock low oil pressure warning switch plugs into the oil cooler, then connect both to that. The oil pressure switches can be tricky though as they've used 2 different thread sizes over the years.

IMO as long as you have a gauge you can simply put the probe instead of the switch in the oil cooler cos you dont need that anymore as you can see the pressure, an addaptor might be needed though if it's different thread

hmmm, good ideas. hope i can find the correct adapters.

when using adapters, would it be recommended to use a non setting sealer, like hylomar blue?

Anyone one knows which threads have they used? If its just two, thinking about buying both adapters and return one of them

Be extremely careful when fitting pressure sensor or whatever as the oil cooler port is very weak - have just cracked 2 - the second with only very light spanner pressure. The sensor in the 3rd cooler was left untouched, as it arrived from the breaker. Looks as though it's been fitted with a sealant of some kind.

If you have a tap and die set it should come with a thread gauge, use that to measure the pitch of the thread on the oil pressure switch once you have taken it out, then get an adaptor with the same thread. Diameter you can measure with a caliper. Measure the pressure switch carefully to see if it is a parallel thread or not, if it isn't go careful putting the adaptor in, it should have the same profile as the switch. PTFE tape cannot hurt, mind you as long as you keep it away from the very end of the adaptor and wind it on clockwise as you look at the bottom of the adaptor.
