Keep getting oil patches under the landy, just trying to figure out where it is coming from. Noticed this has a patch of oil around it. Trying to source it from the highest point of the engine. Already washed the engine to try and trace before...

Well hoping its the engine and not the diff or gearbox. Noticed that going into reverse it clonks...

Any way what is this?

Aaaa that could explain why I am getting the park light on then. Is it just brake fluid it runs off?

No, it is a vacuum pump that runs off the camshaft. It produces a vacuum for the brake servo unit and the egr valve.
It is engine oil that is leaking from the cover. The problem is that the cover is riveted on an is not meant to be serviceable.

Aaaa cheers Guys... What are they like to fit?

Just had to top up brake fluid as well, hope I haven't just found another issue! :(

They are easy enough to fit, but you need to be aware that the lever that operates the vacuum pump is driven by an eccentric cam. It can be difficult to fit the pump if the cam has it's high point on the lever when you fit. If this is the case use a socket on a breaker bar (27mm?) on the crankshaft pulley nut to turn the engine over a bit then try again.

How long have you had the Landy, do you check the brake fluid regularly? It shouldn't go down at all (may be a bit as the brake pads wear). If it has gone down very slowly over a long time then check brake pads, if it has gone down quickly then start looking for a leak.

Cheers bud, really appreciated.

Haven't had the Landy for long will keep an eye on it.
