Hi guys, most of the previous problems are sorted, last Friday the freebie had a major service, double flush on oil, (had'nt been done since head gasket) it has uprated hg on, new problem is after a round trip of 180 miles today, not caning it either i've got back, gone to change a bulb & noticed water reservoir is brown, checked it & it has oil in water, I must stress no water in oil filler cap looks/smells & is the same as before, nor did i overheat at all even sat in traffic for 45 mins, Any help would be cool

Could be gunk that's worked it's way loose? If it's just had a major service this wouldn't be too surprising.

I'd change the coolant and flush the entire system and then see what happens.

Will.

it's not the same as the other stuff (radweld etc....)

unless it's what Wayne says, the damn thing just wants to break itself again:(

If it does turn out to be the head gasket you might want to check out the EWP link in my sig. Not much extra work if you're already getting the HG done. It's an option.

Flushing Being done tomorrow, hunch said it might be all the old crap, I was a little concerned about oil cooler but everything is still the same as before temp wise,

mine did the same after I completed the headgasket upgrade.

I flushed the system out four times (3 times with dishwasher tabs and once with Wynnes)

it totally cleared out all the gunk hiding in the recesses.

only joking about the k-seal btw

Cheers freelaner, all else except the whine under accelaration is sorted, didn't want to start stripping after i've got it almost running right

check the oil in yer ird, diff and gearbox.

percevierance will give you rewards.....but you'll have to remain vigilant ;)

changed all them last friday as well engine oil, gave her a complete lube transfusion :)

good job young padawan , the force is strong with you :D

what could the whine be then :scratching_chin:

oh before i forget, in between flushes i ran with clean clear water for a while to purge the system.

Its got new belts, tensioners are all ok, gonna check the lot in morning:)

Seems to be quieter when the wifes not with me:ballchain:

All on the menu, got a spare alternator on standby cos the one thats on is covered in oil, whats SWMBO :confused2:

Don't mention the stuff in my presence! Just had an overheating Nissan engine, radweld or sumat in a small bore pipe blocked it solid making it chuck out coolant! Grrrrr

K seal is not the same as Radweld.
I have had it in my TD4 for about a year with no problems,to stop a leaking thermostat housing.I still haven`t changed the housing as the weathers been to
cold or to hot.
I would just flush the system before adding to get rid of the crud.
My findings not a recommendation.
Other things to sort before I change that housing.

You say that, I've seen k seal do it too! On a 300tdi. 9 times out of 10 it's fine but occasionally they can screw up your engine!

I think if you have got a big leak ,where there`s lots of air getting into the system it would be a problem, but as a temporary fix(he says) its ok.

As I said in my previous post, its my findings and is not a recommendation.
