Hi guys not often I ask on here and have attempted a search..... :(

We have an oil leak that we just can't find the source of and wondered if anyone has any ideas or has had similar. Any help appreciated

This is under drivers side wheel arch

The oil was around, slightly above and below the area of the red thingy, unfortunately we cleaned it off to see if we could see the leak before the pic. But it may help. This is a TD5 and our oil keeps running low.

Have you had a look at the oil filter? See if its leaking from there. Also is it only when running or does it leak when standing at idle or with engine off?

Hey Wolfy. The filter is at the other side? And we've checked that. We' be just run it on drive and it appears not to have leaked. So when it's on road working perhaps? No oil on drive, just on engine. It's a bugger, we can't find it

Mine doesn't tend to leak a ton when I'm driving but when I first park up and the oil is still hot and thin it leaks for a while until it cools down. Maybe try and park it over some card or a clean spot on the drive and see if you can notice where its leaking from. If it's leaking when running then it will blow the oil all over the place and make it more difficult to pinpoint

It's not getting to drive ( Wolfy! As if my drive would have oil patches pft ;) ) but it is an idea to shove cardboard under them gubbins after a journey. We should have more of an idea then I guess

Cheers ma dears :)

The other thing is clean the engine, let it dry and sprinkle talc everywhere then see where the oils shows up in the talc. Sometimes oil leeks aren't where you expect them due to the oil migrating when driving etc
