hey all my first post - sorry it's with a question.
i have a 300 tdi 90 that has had a little oil leak for sometime now - one of them jobs on the to-do list.
i took it out yesterday 4wheeling and when ever i'd get it up on a pretty serious incline it would start pi55ing out. now i dont mind doing my bit for the environment and putting the oil back into the earth but i can't afford to be buying the amount that was coming out all the time.
the engine bay is pretty dirty and oil everywhere so anybody got any ideas as to where it's coming from?
thanks

Welcome to the loonyzone.

Sorry I don't have a clue based on what you told us.

You say it was ****ing out, surly you can tell roughly from where? Is there any sign of it in the engine bay? Get under it and see where the biggest freshest spray of oil is.

thanks for the reply, my trouble is i can't recreate the problem , i lost nearly a litre yesterday and by the time i'd got over an obstacle and onto the flatter ground i couldn't see where it was coming from, just a large oil patch behind me. i've got the front up on ramps today and again can't re-create it. the front of the bellhousing (bottom) is covered in oil and there seems to be a slight sump leak (rear) but i can't see it letting out the amount we saw yesterday. i'll rip the sump off this week and re-fit it, then take it out again and see what happens. in the meantime if any one has ideas...
