I have a lot of oil coming in to the intake from the breather.all pipes intake manifold and matrix are dripping in oil.cyclone breather is clear so what else can be the cause this?.

You say its coming into the intake from the breather from the cyclone?

You certain its not coming from the turbo?

Check the pipe from the base of the cyclone to the block. My cyclone fell apart, blocked the drain pipe, and the sump pressurised, blowing oil through the turbo seal.

Yours will probably not be that, but, either way, check that pipe. Then the cyclone itself. Then the drain pipe from the turbo.

I've heard that, if the air filter to turbo collapses then the turbo can suck from the breather rather more than its supposed to.

I don't know the likleyhood of that, but it was mentioned when I had issues with mine.

The pipe is soaked with oil right up to the air meter the turbo seals may have gone but until I can get rid of oil coming from the cyclone (just checked it and clear)breather I can't tell.

Take that pipe, and put it in a bottle strapped somwhere, then go for a drive.

You will probably get a bit of oil, but it shouldnt be more than a spattering (i think)

You need to drain the intercooler - if it all works up into the inlet, then you could get a bit of run-away.

If theres no real play in your turbo, im told, that its unlikley that its leaking there (unless its being pressurised through)

This was from a turbo rebuild place, when i was trying to spend money with them - they talked me out of sending the unit to them, as there was no play (just a tiny click of play that you get from most bearings)

When i was having issues, i would clean the intercooler with petrol, then with water.

If you use petrol, be damn sure to wash that out well (it does not mix with water remember) as, if you start up with an intercooler full of petrol vapor, i think things will get interesting quickly.

Intake manifolds a mess going to clean out the whole system and give a run with the pipe in a can to see how bad it is.what's best to get that sticky goo off

Clean inlet manifold and intercooler with oven cleaner from the £shop ...
Rinse and dry PROPERLY, then re-fit ...

Everything now clean just checked engine oil level and it's a good 10mm above full pretty sure I didn't put it there.oil shows no sign of water mixing can't smell diesel in the oil either.ran engine for 10secs and got a good drible of oil from the breather probably due to the high oil level.so I must assume that it's still diesel getting in the oil and I can't smell it.due for oil change anyway but would like to check probable causes just incase

I believe the lift pump seal can fail and let fuel into the sump?

I've wondered about that, my '200 has self-filling sump and the power & economy has dropped :(

I've bypassed the mechanical lift pump and replaced with a temporary 'facet silver top' electric one :D (this has shown other issues but I was expecting 'extras'

For the OP, with the engine running and the oil filler cap removed, how much pressure is there 'blowing' out from the rocker cover? (And is it 'misty' with oil vapour o_O??)
Also, have you removed the cyclone thinggy and 'blown' through it and checked if it's drain pipe (to the sump) is clear?

Rich.

Breather system is all clear can hear oil bubbling when I blow down the sump return.blows out of filler cap when removed (oily mist).as far as I know I'm down to
1 too much oil
2 Obstructed cat/particle filter
3 Worn rings (blow-by)
Running with the breather in a catch tank now.can do the first two no problem not a lot I can do if it's rings but no symptoms of this as far as I can tell.any other ideas would be most welcome.
