Was changing the clutch slave cylinder and the nut holding on the metal pipe that links to the slave cylinder was stuck and when I eventually got a turn on it, the whole metal pipe twisted and buckled along with the rest of the metal pipe all the way to the master cylinder! :(((((( Not a good day. And to top it off, I cant find the part numbers anywhere for the metal pipes (the little one between the slave and the flexi and the big long one that runs all the way along the bulkhead. Can find the flexi hose easy enough but cant find the others anywhere. So if any of you kind people can help an enraged chap such as myself, that would be smashing.

If it helps, it is an 87 90 200tdi.

Pray for me :| :mad::violent:

You can get a ready made one at a lr dealer expensive !
Or buy a flaring tool some ends and pipe and make one yourself cheapest option your have spare brake pipe then if ever you need it .
Did you use two spanners as your ment to undo with one and hold with the other brake spanners are best as they don't chew the nuts .

It would be far cheaper to make them yourself, flaring tools can be gotten pretty cheap or you could get the pipe and ends then ask a local garage very nicely to flare the ends for you.

buy a flaring kit, itll pay for itself a hundred times over in years to come....

no idea on dealer prices but pennies to make at home......

cheers steve

Cheers for that, does seem like a worthwhile investment. I picked up a pipe (Bearmach) for about £6 based on the part numbers catalogue linked above - time will tell if it is the right one :D As for doing it meself and never done any sort of pipe work like that before, how do I stop the pipe from collapsing on itself when I make a bend?

you use a tool and don't make the bends too tight.
