I just came across a Callaway P38 sitting entombed in dirty Colorado snow. It sits there with its big alloys, dual exhaust, and on coils. It looks out of place, a stranger in a strange land, and it looks like it could be had on the cheap. It has a for sale sign that looks as if it was scribbled by someone on crystal meth. Please tell me what you know of these beasts. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Wait a minute, this could be a Merkin thing. Check out the specs: http://www.callawaycars.com/homepage/the-company/callaway-cars/c11/callaway-range-rover/

NOW GO AND FECKING BUY IT.....:D:D:D:D

I live in a world fractured by delusion. I'm skint as per.
But I think it could be crazy cheap. The impressionistic for sale sign had an original asking price of $1500 then some scribbling and then a slightly legible $1000 with OBO hovering in the corner.

$1000.00 is not a lot if it's any good. But the IF is very large. Lot better drive than a Classic.:D:D:D

Got to be worth serious consideration - my 'standard' P38 had the appearance, (and smell), of being a pig pen for the past twelve months of its life and was truly very off puttin.

It doesn't take long, however, to strip, clean, (or replace), the interior and the transformation can be amazing!

But, (as per the above comments - from members far more learned than myself), it is a lot of car, (both mechanically and electronically), and could cost an arm and a leg to sort if you are unlucky.

If it looked reasonable I would, personally, snap it up - but a fool and his money soon goes separate ways . . . !

Ah yes. The only V8 P38s that actually hit the original projected power outputs. I guess all of those BigMacs and gallon cups of coke needed more power to waft around than the Euro stuff. Offer him $500. He'll probably meet you halfway. Bargain motor... assuming it runs.

Maybe I'll give a call to a wealthy Rover enthusiast I know. He might find it interesting. It's been overheated says the lady who stepped out of the house when I looked at it today. Well, what she said actually was it needed the heads skimmed and a new water pump. So, me being as sharp as I am......
The price is down to $800 now. It's #12, so it's an early one.

Buy it man. For $800 buckos, you could clean it up in your spare time and easily double your money... no balls.

I haven't the money now nor in the near future. Plus, another Range Rover in the drive will clog things up a bit ;)

But my thought is that it could be had for $500. I'm going to put the word out to peeps I know who might have the dosh and the desire. I'm on some FB Rover groups.

Oh for the days when I used to work in the states - pop over to U-Haul and get some packing materials and call the local freight office . . . . .
