Just seen this on the bay of E, item 281480944597. To much info ie. it's been skimmed

I've mailed him to tell him it's scrap.
Simple, BMW say it cannot be done, the head is prone to cracking to start with, skimming it just makes it even weaker.Keith, Alan I think you need to let people know on here why this is scrap so they don't do it.

I'm sure you are right, had an email back from the seller saying he's contacted the guy he bought it from who has assured him it's OK and that the problem will be a cracked blockJust had a reply from the guy that's trying to sell the head. Seems he bought it in good faith without knowing you cannot skim them. The sellers post said it was skimmed so hopefully he can get his money back. Checking ebay there are at least one other that has been refaced !!![]()

Original seller obviously has no intention of refunding.![]()
Tell him not meI think he should contact the seller again, by coincidence I have dealt with the seller myself and found him a good guy to deal with. I have even recommended him on this forum and been backed up by other members.![]()
Tell him not meI've told already.
.HI,
I notice another question mentioning the M51 CH shouldn't be refaced, and yet your reply says it can.
I attach an extract of the official Land Rover RAVE P38 Manual, in the Diesel section regards the Cylinder Head, it clearly states the head must not be refaced.
I think you should go back to your original seller and claim the item was not suitable for sale.
I wish you all the best

Don't want the poor fecker to be out of pocket, or if he does sell it, for the other person to come chasing this guys tail, as he seems genuine!
