.......... well I spose it had to happen eventually!
Called the mobile Landy Doctor out to look at my Freebie, it has been having a lil bit of an intermittant problem going into reverse for about a few weeks.
So I finally called him out to put his fault code thing-a-ma-bob on it. He connected it and it came up a couple of faults:
1/ Reverse module/sensor (or whatever you wanna call it) isnt working 100%
2/ The inhibitor module/sensor isnt doing its job either
The thing that has him confused tho is that you can hear (the revs drop) and feel (throught the shifter) that it wants to go into gear, but just wont.
Turn the ignition off (fully) then start again 95% it will engage reverse.
He thinking its definitley a sensor problem but also a lil concerned that it tries to engage but wont. He's a very capable Landrover mechanic (used to strip engines etc) but this has him bamboozled.
He's gone away to 'research' more about it but has told me the worst case is the auto will have to come out, best case a couple of sensors replaced.
Just as well Ive been working alot of overtime ........... time to open my wallet!!
.............. ahhhhhh the joys of landrover ownership
