Oh Dear!! What to do?

Thanks, I'll look into all of these but there will be no avoiding the big-brother databases going forward. If you have ever ended up on one of these through no fault of your own (number plate cloning) it is almost impossible to get your (or the cars) name cleared. The 1st challenge I had from the insurer was them saying I had not declared an historic loss - took me ages to find out who my insurer was at the time and get them to confirm that the database entry was bogus and the result of fraudulent activity by others - I have a letter now to say its not right ….. but there's no way of getting the database changed! - we are just numbers. Anyway ….. looks like I have a big collection of bits to sell and reuse.
How much did you get for it?

ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL - But its goodbye to the Defender Forum and Hello to the Series Forum.

Having considered all of my options of what to do with a structurally damaged but still lovely Defender 90 TD5 I thought before I part it out or attempt to buy another to transfer the bits on to I would put it on eBay and see the level of interest in it. There was a lot but then …. out of the blue I got offered a swap for a very nice looking 1980 Series 3 200TDi conversation - we met …. and we swapped. It's a very different drive but what it lacks in sound proofing and ride quality it makes up for in the number of levers it has and it is of course totally beautiful. So I'm off to the Series Forum and I have lots of questions for them starting with why is their not a useful storage box under the passenger seat? There's lots of space but when I slip back the cover all I see is my feet and the lawn!

Why did you not advertise it on here or did I miss it ?? or is it that this lot have deep pockets & short arms lol

I ended up with a choice of a pretty decent sum of money or the swap. The swap easily won - the young guy who had the S3 was a very nice chap who had done a lovely job on it, he also had a spare TD5 chassis, and this was probably the only way he could afford to (eventually) be behind the wheel of a very tasty TD5. Everyone wins! I'll put a picture or 2 up soon.

There should be, there is one under the passenger seat of my series. If you don't have one fitted YRM probably have a replacement, think the box is just riveted in from memory.
