i've bought a classic range rover 3.5 efi and i'd like to take it off roading, what kind of kit do i need and if i was to go wading in it do i need to do anything to the engine and ancillaries to waterproof them? A snorkel would be an idea i know but i'm unsure about the electrics as they usually don't mix too well with the wet stuff.
Any help greatly appreciated.

the first very important thing is dont go on your own !!!!!!!!
make sure at least someone has a recovery rope !!
have a look here axledeep.com they sell wadeing kits ..... basically all they are is 2 threaded bolts which screw into 1/ the bottom of the cambelt houseing and the the gearbox i think there 2 or 3 pounds a kit ....
make sure the route you choose to go has no t r o on it or you will get done if cought also it might be worth doing a search on here as im sure there are many questions and answers

surely depends how extreme offroading your wanting to do, i've never done anything too mad crazy mental like been up to me wing mirrors in mud or water but i've done plenty of sensible (probably boring to your standards) offroading in vehicles with no extra "off roading" gear! just took things at sensible speeds, checked out routes before hand, took some self rescue equipment and listened to what those that knew something had to say!!
