Hi Vince, do you have the route plotted on the map that we could study ? so I could transfer it onto my pc.
Mike, No I don't have a map but if you log on to WIKILOC you will be able to download the routes. Have (hopefully) sent you an email with the route details and itinerary attached.
Cheers, Vince.

Hi Vince, thought I'd already replied but must have forgotten to hit the "post reply" button when I'd finished typing!
I'm still in and looking forward to it. I'll hopefully be spending an extra week in France so will peel off on the way back and head for the mountains. Any chance of a copy of the route/itinerary you have so far? I'll PM my email address.

Hi Vince, we would like to join you, too. I'm Ian & other half's Lynne. We'll be in the 90. Already living over in France, so we would drive across & meet up with you en route.
I'll pm my email address for info on the route/ itinerary. Then we can decide where to meet up.

Also, we quite fancy going over to the mountains after if you fancy some company Ian (MrIFan).

So it looks like we are 5 vehicles so far,
1/ Myself + wife
2/ James + Sarah
3/ MrIFan
4/ Mikescuba
5/ Kerm

Kerm, we're getting the ferry across to Le Havre so we will be travelling through Brittany on the way. Maybe we could pick you up enroute?
Hopefully (despite my limited computer skills) you have all received a copy of my itinerary.
Cheers, Vince.

Ok, cool. We will be heading down on the 10th and will meet you in Nantes (I think) in the evening if I get my timing right.

The roof weight restrictions of the cx-5 kind of ruin my roof tent plan, so its normal tents for us.

All received thanks Vince, yes will meet you enroute, will check your ferry arrival time and see what we can sort out, will let you know. Looking forward to it.

Excellent. As soon as I know the meeting place I'll let you know.
Maybe you could fit an acro- prop inside the Mazda?

Allo allo, I'm Kerms other half, thought I'd better sign up & stop "lurking" ....I'm coming too, please ;-)
Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Thanks for the info Vince, route looks interesting and it's in a beautiful but little explored region of France. Being more a fan of driving than sailing I will probably do the Calais crossing and meet up with you on the evening of the 8th.

Kerm you have a message.

Just booked the chunnel, 11:20 on the 10th June and return on the 18th at 16:20. :D

Had to use my clubcard points up so have booked it early. Didn't realise dogs are so expensive to bring

Edit, so will be with you about 6 on the 10th I think.

Nice one James.
Suggested meeting place at Nantes is :-
Nantes camping, 21 Boulevard du petit port, 44300, Nantes.
They are dog friendly.
I guess that you will be arriving sometime during the evening, so just as last year, I'll fire up the barbie half an hour before you turn up.
After £160 of welding, the Delica now has 12 months mot so I am now thinking how I'm going to convert it into a camper.

The suggest meeting time and place for everyone else is 8th June at :-
Camping des Gayeulles, rue Maurice Audin, 35700, Rennes.
Cheers, Vince.

Ok, cool.

I'm keeping the defender, but I think we are going to bring the CX5 (if you think it will cope) this time as the defender is probably a bit warm for the dog without aircon. I'll make sure it has a towing point on the front!

Cruising at 130k with air-con sounds the best option. I'm sure the CX5 will be fine as all of the routes are rated as 'medium' (no difficult ones available around that area).

Just had a look at the campsite in Rennes....looks great. Suits us to see you there. We are only 2 hrs away :)
Excellent, we'll see you there. We are expecting to arrive fairly early, around midday as a guess.
Yes, the campsite looks OK although the bar is slightly off-site so an after BBQ stroll may be in order.

Haha, thanks. That actually looks a really cool piece of kit.

Fortunately this years trip will involve campsites but I'm def going to look into it. Unfortunately I don't think we have the spare room in our polo for a water heating system for our Mongolia trip!
I'm not on that one so you can be as filthy as you like. Just got my Land Rover back from being resprayed. Only took them 12 weeks. I've had clean hands for the last 12 weeks, first day the Land Rover is back and my hands are black.
