I have just bought a 300 tdi. It's pretty standard at the moment (apart from slightly chunky wheels), and was wondering what i should buy for a bit of off roading/green laning. Already have "borrowed" waffel boards and kenetic ropes from work. I'm not going to be going too extreame, just want to kit it out with the basics. Any sugestions??

Contary to popular opinion these were not built just to take the kids to school and will cope with serious off roading without modificaion, save for tyres maybe. Unless you're going into competition i would say you already have all you need, except maybe, A MATE... Its never a good idea to go playing with only one vehicle as you "never" know when you will need help.

I agree. All that fashion victim stuff is mostly a waste of money. Good tyres, some solid recovery points front and rear and a mate to give you a tug if you do get stuck is all you really need.

Definitely good tyres, my disco with BFG A/Ts left a similar car with scorpions on for dead last time I went off roading. I have no mods otherwise, and my car copes with most sensible off-road action. Of course if you want to be more extreme, then see what rips off and just don't refit it !!
