Is there any OBD2 software available, or can I buy a copy from members, that will allow the adding of modules, in particular the steering lock module.
I have reader (USB) also an ICarsoft but I need to access the modules.

The only programmer I'd consider using is the Gap Diagnostics IID in Bluetooth form.
It'll do all you'll ever need, and fits in the glove box so is always handy for little diagnostic jobs.

You can find older (pre 2014) JLR SSD. You will need the right cable (mongoose) and laptop to install it on (Panasonic tough book). I had a version that was essential to keep a 2002 Jaguar s-type on the road... Chech our the Jaguar forums

I have ordered a Toughbook, mongoose cable and JLR SSD software' at the moment I am looking at a specific problem, "Steering column locked" I will try and post on how I get on trying to resolve it.
in the meantime any help or advice would be greatly appreciated .

First, just check the codes. The JLR software will give you way more information than the generic OBDII readers will. Plenty of advice as to what’s wrong or where to look. Biggest recommendation is to not ‘play’. With that system you can turn the vehicle into an unrecoverable brick if you’re not careful. A friend of mine ‘bricked’ his ZF HP6 gearbox in his Jaguar with remarkable ease. Only solution was a $5000 reconditioned unit.

Well nothing but aggrovation to report, finally got the software installed, tried it on my car reads the vehicle information but not a lot else, more information to follow.

I suggested the Gap Diagnostics IID BT for a reason. It may cost £470 but it'll do much more than any other diagnostic tool and the Gap help desk is only an email away. ;)

Where did you buy the SSD software from? There's a number of fake versions being sold.
