hi guy's small problem,my eas kicker ,syncmate dosent seem to be responding at all,ie iam not even getting blue light to illuminate, checked for power going to obd which there is,is there any reason why their not responding that i might be missing ie fuse or something, cheers pat.

The OBD socket is fed with a permanent 12V supply to two of the pins. Check the fuse in the becm fusebox...only a small rating, cant remember what number it is offhand :beer2: ..I am sure someone who reads the owners manual for pleasure instead of Playboy will put a post up in milliseconds.

hi irishrover. yes i checked fuses under seat all ok,was looking in the manual under becm, showing all the different input and outputs, and there was two showing diagnostic k line and L line what are they for, have they got anything to do with the obd.cheer's pat.

Socket pinouts are:

Pin 1...Grey & Red wire EAS Timer
4...Black Ground
5...Black & Purple Ground
7...Pink & Red Becm connector C255
11..White & light Green Airbag (SRS) ecu
12..White & Pink EAS ecu
14..Yellow & Green Airbag (SRS) ecu
15..Light Green & Red Becm connector C255
16..Brown Permanent 12v+ supply from Fuse 33

So you should have permanent 12v supply across pins 4 and 16 or 5 and 16. Check with a meter or test lamp to confirm, if you have, connect the OBD lead and check that you have 12V on the corresponding pins of the plug that goes into the faultmate. There should be a wiring diagram for the OBD lead which shows the pinouts on the BBS support forum. There may also be something on there about fuses etc. within the Faultmate unit.
Have you got a 12V external supply lead which plugs into the small :behindsofa: power plug on the Faultmate??..if you do, try that and see if it lights up first before delving into checking pinouts etc.

hi irishrover, sorry.its not a faultmate that i have its a eas kicker lite, and a becm syncmate,so i should be getting power to pin 4 or 5 on the obd aswell as power to pin 16 which is brown wire, cheers pat.
