Number plate

Not sure if this as been covered before ..
Is it illegal ( mot fail ) to have a stuck on number plate on the bonnet .. cheers Rob .

it looks like as long as it's reflective and the right colour you'll be fine. There is the additional requirement that it has to "be fitted vertically, or as close to vertical as is reasonably practical" - that's obviously subjective but I'm assuming you've not just slapped it on top of the bonnet!

No I havent done it yet . It's currently on the front of the roof rack , but have been told that's a mot fail .. so was just wondering. Thanks for reply.

Stick in for your ticket with the number plate where it is, use one of those ‘free retest in 7 days’ type places.

If they fail it for the numberplate, whip it off and use some sticky pads to stick it to the bumper for the retest if it passes then crack on with your life

I passed with a magnetic number plate on the bonnet. Magnetic removable number plates are a fail but the the tester couldnt remove it to see if it's removable anyway. Crazy.

Range rover bonnet. I did buy a mag mount CB aerial for the roof though. didn't get much use.
