Now or next year

the dealer has now told me that my new 90xs is at their premises and I can take delivery before Xmas. So do I take it now ( with a pressie from them thrown in), or do I wait till after new year and get it first registered in 2016. According to the sales manager a 2015 registration will make no difference to desirability/saleability in the future. What do you folks think??

I think if I wanted it I'd get it. If you're worried about future saleability don't buy a new vehicle, buy some vintage wine. If you don't want it there'll be plenty of others that would love it regardless of what the plate said!

Surely this depends entirely on what you want from the deal: If you just want to own a Land Rover and keep it for as long as you can (mine are 32 years old and 46 years old respectively) then just get hold of the thing and start having the time of your life.
if it's about resale value then wait until 2016 and do whatever you need to to maximise your investment.

Personally I wish that mine had zero saleability in the future and then I wouldn't have to worry about some pond - life nicking them but your mileage may vary
