Not Much Suck!

Hi - the servo assistance on my 90 tdi has stopped working, checked for leaks in pipe (non that I can see) one way valve works fine, when I take the pipe off and run the engine I am getting hardly any suck at idle but does increase with revs. Should there be a decent suck at idle? Suggestions would be great before I blow a load of money on guesswork!!

Take a look in the Discovery section, there is a thread there called 200tdi brake problem....
I had a similar thing with my Disco, and it turned out to be a dammaged vac pipe. When the engine reved up it was fine, but at tickover i had no brakes..
I would take a look around the engine bay for split pipes/melted pipes etc...

I bit the bullet today and went to the garage (mot was appraoching fast) guess what? Vac pump had packed up - well one of the fins had broken. Can now stop on a sixpence, but wallet hurts!!

Got through the mot with just one bush needing replaced.
