RAVE has a comprehensive Cruise Control diagnostic pathway......
Does it tell how to take the relay apart & see what could have gone inside it?

Section B5 Cruise Control in the ETM. Page 12 on.
On the FB 38 forum I have been informed they just up and roll over!
Everything else checks out!
I'll start at the beginning:
When I took my EAS block out the 1st time, I had to undo the diaphragm, so I unplugged it from pipes & plug. When I put it all back together, nothing worked so I thought hoses cracked, must replace. Which I did with plastic pipe and sleeved it with rubber. I took it back to the pedal.
The light on the switch comes on/off so can't tell and no one can check it
I reiterate, it all worked beautifully until I unplugged it.
It has also been suggested the BECM "forgot" it has cruise! But I didn't ever undo the battery

Best have a good look over what you did unplugging the EAS block its so easy to miss something, have you power to the pump ? Is it working, cables all connected ? The switch on the brake pedal is a favorite.....but as it was all OK before I don't see why it wouldn't be after if unless you disturbed something.
Exactly, there is one plug on the motor for the diaphragm and all it has are 3 connections. I've checked the wires for breaks as best I can, but how can I get power to it unless I am driving over 30mph
I know there will be some LR way involving hanging it off an Oak Tree and setting on motorway and drinking cocoa

Or you could just work your way through the diagnostics (multimeter required) and pinpoint the problem that way
If I knew what to look for I would have a go
I have a digical meter.I would normally have started with the brake pedal, but I understand it's vacuum operated
I downloaded Rave, but can't get it to open
Some help required there too, sorry

Take the pump off and shove 12volts threw it, connect a bulb to the plug on some long wires run into the cabin via the passenger door and go for a drive over 30 mph that will eliminate 2 things there.
Y'know, soon as I'd typed that I thought... "I could connect a bulb!"
I also thought of the pump, but I wonder if perhaps there could have been water in the pipework which has done something (a bit like hydraulic lock) or whatever.
It's really peeing me off and I want it fixed for next month. Taking her indoors dahn saff well to Glasgow, so more duun soof mun

The cruise on my 4.0 L did not work nor does the one on the diesel i just got from what i have read the diesels are not so bad to rectify
i know audis used a similar system ie ecu vac pump diaphram & safety switches
what i was wondering is the ecu dedicated LR only or another be used in its place

The diagnostics pathway in RAVE will help.....it tells you were to probe the meter, what results are expected, what connections to check - it is actually very good!

The only drawback with RAVE is that you need a laptop in the car as you go through diagnostics page by page and if you share one with her indoors she wont like grease all over the touch pad thats why i got an old one just for the cars

Saying all that mine didnt work and i replaced the modual under the steering wheel there are 2 types gems and thor engine.

I ended up buying a 12v inverter charger for my laptop as the battery is guffed. I use it when messing with the EAS... Anyway, once I figure how to load it to be able to read it, I'll have a go.
