Not another key fob question (lol)

im gonna keep this short and sweet.

I've used the search buttons and seen all the refrence to the robbing ebay sellers with keyfobs but i have one question from all i have found,

I have a Lucas Single button keyfob. can i reprogram one using this method?

LAND ROVER

Land Rover Discovery V8 >96 (single Button oval shape)

1. Ensure ignition is OFF, dors unlocked, bonnet switch closed.

2. Ensure procedure from 3 to 9 is completed within 8 seconds.

3. Switch Ignition ON

4. Switch Ignition OFF

5. Lock Doors

6. Unlock Doors

7. Release Bonnet Switch

8. Switch Ignition ON

9. Switch Ignition OFF

If alarm is set, horn will sound and LED with light. Now programming of plips can be completed.

10. Press and hold down button on Plip until LED flashes.

11. Repeat for additional plips.

12. The Dash LED will extinguish if both plips have been programmed successfully.

Or is it a load of *******.... please no slaging me off i'have searched but all i keep coning up with is refrences to the other keyfobs with the two buttons and also ones with built in keys that once programed canot be changed.... I know they have to be got from the dealers..

but then i see places like here

so i guess i dont need to go to the dealers with mine.

Any advice would be appreciated.

hi , ive just got rid of my 300 tdi also the reprogram info .the sequence you have got from my memory sounds abut right ,did mine several times and worked ok. where it says 8 seconds it means 8 seconds. it took me several goes to get it all in by 8 seconds .if i remember did it through the open drivers door window with the bonnet open and a brick on the bonnet switch to save time .
