have yu thought of taking it to a dealer and asking them to quote - otherwise yu gonna have the "we didnt damage that bit" scenario.

get an independent view of the damage - that will stand up better in court.

The garage they organised, when I rang about the pick up today. Phone conversation went like this...

"Hey, I'm rining about the landy your supposed to have coming in today. Reg numbers W....."
"Landies on record yep"
"Can I just check what work you've got down for it?"
"Sure, rear door freelander needs replacing and painting, front right wing freelander nee...."
"Hold on a second, its a deepender!"
"We don't deal with deependers sir. The boys that rang up booked it in as a freelander"
"Cancel it." And I hung up.

Turns out it was never a LR-approved garage.

Today I've ordered all the parts I need from the stealership, they're here tommorrow. Im doing the work myself. And its getting sprayed by a company that I know of which does full resprays for porsches, mercs, bmws and the like. They have till Friday til pay (which I've said all along). Then it becomes a police, and small claims court matter.

You are Very Patient. The Moment i found out they didnt put it into a LR approved garage i would of gone to the police. No second chances. You do not owe them ANYTHING. I would of gone to the station with the tape that second and got insurance involved. Good luck.

Dunno the regiment, I just know them as based at Catterick. I believe they're actually trainers, as they're based there full-time, but they've seen 'real' action. We don't talk much about what they do, I just know them as good lads who'd help me out a lot .. I did something for them a long while ago ... ;)

Just gone out and fitted the auxiliary idler pulley and bracket. Fitted aux belt (bitch of a job without removing the fan...which I didn't)

Started up engine, fan isn't moving. "What?" Methinks. Goes around, looks down, the main bolt out my crankshaft pulley (correct name?) is sitting out, all the way out nearly, stopping the fan moving making my crankshaft pulley wobble like a bitch.

Radiator is coming out tommorrow...

I'm currently stuck at the missuses house due to having no working windscreen wipers :( and I'm not willing to drive back at the moment with the snow coming down and no wipers. So it aint going too well. Need to find a way to contact the guys (my phones down) to find out if they got my money yet. Looks like I'll be doing the work myself and getting it professionally resprayed. Parts from stealership tho. Suits me fine.
