:frusty: called up my insrance company today to get changed over to my newly bought disco and basiclly got told to **** off i am only 20 but have had my licence 3 years and got no points, convictions or crashes so its a bit harsh of them to "not be able to offer you cover on that vehicle" :5brant:

tell me about it i had a row with my now ex insurance company ( lancaster ) when they couldnt even find the model of car i had on their database !

Try specialist landrover insurance companys, look in Landrover magazines... there is loads of em. :D

i had the same response when i got insured on my disco last year, they wouldnt insure me cos i was 20 so i asked to speak to their manager and he insured me,its got to be worth a try mate!:)

I use a firm called highway 4x4. 200 quid fully comp, but i'm 39 with full NCB. must be worth a try. It can be difficult to get insurance for 4x4s from main stream companies if you are young etc.

I had the same trouble ringing round the cheap companies when I got my 10 year old 200TDi a few years ago. And I'm 50+ with full ncd! Much easier now though - go to one of the compare the meercat sites and stick your details in - if a firm won't insure you then you won't get a quote from them.
And you'll quite probably get a quote from the firm that refused you!

Don't forget to make sure you get a refund for any unused policy.

Try sureterm, also look at ways of reducing premium - garaged, alarm/imobiliser(thatchem approved etc.), increase excess all the usual stuff!

wen i was 24, adrian flux insured my 200tdi for £340 tpft, with all mods. dont forget to tell them your a member on here to get a decent discount (i got 15% off)
