Hi guys I'm new on here, I'm on with my disco, and have been able too get a bit more done during these unfortunate times (hope everyone is well ), I bought her getting on 19yrs ago, 3 days after my daughter was born so could never bring myself to part with her even thought she's been off the road 7 or 8 yrs, the body was really shot and I had a bit of a idea for a camper, so my plan is a 6x6 pickup with a demountable camper body. I didn't want to just chop it up and stick a flat panel on, I want it to look like it came out of the factory but its defiantly a learning curve and YouTube has been a great friend. I've got the back metal work formed but there's still a lot of finishing, sills and floor and A & B pillars are done , I've got the inner wings to do next then I can take the body off. I plan on extending the chassis by 10" on the straight by the transfer box to get 110" wheel base, I think it will look a better proportion then extend the back for the 3rd axle, I know what I want, But am making it up as I go along too, so I have a couple of questions, I might just buy the inner wing panels I've seen the Easy on kits on ebay has anyone had them ?.
and I think I'm going to pick the drive up between the prop and rear axle and put it over the top of the axle to get the drive for the last on, would you get windup between the two back axles ?
any info would be appreciated
cheers keith

Thanks for the heads up on them just been on the site.I wouldn't get enough length plus and ive always had a itch for something with a 6x6 :)

6X6 is doable but the drive to the rear axle is a ball ache, I was going to do a 6X4 as trailing rear axle on air springs would allow you to drop pressures to let middle drive axle do it's thing traction wise.

You want one of these from Foley engineering though.

Watch what you do to the chassis as major mods need to be inspected.

the work you have done looks great. Keep posting the photos. Help/info is always available
yeah I was expecting some sort of engineers report or something . I have photos before because I know there is a type approval for some conversions

Some 1 will probably have a link for the sva test. As any mods to the chassis needs that.
Also have a read of the earlier link from @kermit_rr there is a lot of info in there.
Also chat with foley they always doing big conversion

that's the type of thing but I think they are about 5k, im going to have ago at making something along them lines, there was a Esarco 8x8 based on a 110 I think they used two transfer boxes backtoback

Hi so I got a bit done this last lockdown week, I ordered the inner wings from YRM , great delivery service even now and really impressed with the quality of the panels.I had to make a new top panel for the N/S inner wing as i couldn't get one it turned out canny. i forgot to order the battery trays so I thought I would take the chance to make a better sheet metal folder I'm wanting to do some lockers for under the flat bed and the little clarke one wasn't the best, plus the wife looked like she was getting ideas of some jobs around the house so i disappeared into my workshop, anyway i got the front mostly built up now, i hope to get the body lifted off this week now its structurally sound and i can finish it before i start the chassis work

All the welding is about done on the body now. Had to make a new lower panel today it was quicker than trying to salvage the old one. I’m using seam sealer on all the welds. I went over it all underneath with a wire brush on the grinder then washed them down with acetone and ech primered them. I’m the going to Schultz the underneath and the back of the wings. But the I want to paint it the same as the rest. Hope this will be ok. For some reason I always thought she was Epsom green. The I noticed the paint colour sticker. Carriagda green met. Can anyone recommend and online paint supplies. ?
