Hi. Retired uni lecturer. Living in Kernow (Cornwall for the emmits) Drove a Snach in a previous existence. Given a Freelancer Sport manual box and BMW lump. A mechanical humpty.

You must have good friends to be given a motor... but its a Landie, so maybe they're not that good after all :D

Sort that clutch out and you should have yourself a good motor. In general Freelanders are pretty reliable and if bits do break they are (also generally) pretty cheap. One of a few exceptions there is a clutch change on a TD4!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I built so many web sites for so many other members of staff so I knew just where all the skeletons were. I think this landi was just to cover their backsides. A new clutch Inc duel mass was fitted about 18000 miles ago but not the master cylinder. A number of members have suggested that this will solve all the problems so will keep you updated. Thanks.
