Hi All,
Wandering if anybody has come over/experienced this. Today i was driving down a steep hill when a 'plank' came driving towards we like an idiot, so I slammed on the anchors. When I then pulled away there was banging noise sounded like something metal spinning and hitting something getting faster as I picked up speed. I stopped had a look underneath nothing to see, now the odd thing when I pulled away again no 'noise' no odd feeling in the steering or performance of the vehicle. any ideas of where to start looking for I am off this week end so can spend some time on it.

The driver going uphill has right of way, as the driver coming down it is up to you to stop!

(Highway code 155) "Give way to vehicles coming uphill whenever you can."

If you had to 'slam on the anchors' you were doing something wrong ...

As to the noise, maybe you just picked something up and it dropped off, coincidence?

Noted! however I had right of way because my side was clear and there was several cars parked on his side in-fact he was a boy racer decided he was going to squeeze his way through doing something like 50 mph in a 30 mph showing off to his girlfriend sitting next to him. Oh also for got he was going so fast when he pulled out he took on of the parked car's wing mirror off. may be next time I should wright a full essay on what happened before I ask for advice.:hippie:
 
maybe caused either the pads or shoes to move a bit more than normal, so were then slightly differently placed and caught slightly.

after a little bit they settled back to where they should be.
 
could be your pads on the front do not drive any more until you have at least looked at them, possible one pad has come of the backing plate.
