Hi Everyone.

I'm new to the world of Land Rover. I have just purchased a Freelander TD4 2003 and I love it.

But a week after purchase it’s developed a strange fault on the passenger’s side suspension

There is hardly any travel on the suspension. When I push on the driver’s side front its goes up and down as I would expect. But the passenger’s side front does not!

I took the car to a local garage and they cannot find the cause! But he wants to charge £200 to take the front of the car apart to try and find the fault.
After a few days it returned to normal. But I had to do an emergency stop in the car last Friday, now the fault is back!

Can anyone help here? I would be very grateful. Has anyone got any ideas what might be causing this.

Thanks

Daz.

Odd , maybe a faulty damper as rest is bushes unless a faulty cv joint affecting sliding and therefore drive shaft length and suspension travel.

As above. Faulty shock on that side. I've seen it before on an MG, the piston head has probably come adrift, twisting and jamming.
