No reverse lights

Hi
I have a 2002 td4 3dr manual. Noticed the other day that I had no reverse lights and also that the hdc is not working in reverse. Suspected the reverse switch after reading about it's problems on here. When I looked the wires are connected at the switch but not at the other end. There is around 30cms of wire with 2 connectors on the end and I can't see anywhere they would connect to. Any help would be great. Also I'm guessing it was never reconnected after a clutch change which was done before I bought the car private

Sorry don't have one to look at to shed any light on the connector location. Assume it connects to the engine compartment loom somewhere close by, maybe the tail it connects to has been tucked away?

The short cable piece from the reverse switch plugs into a small bit of loom on the inner body almost directly above the switch itself. Just stand on the passenger (left) side and look down on top of gearbox. You might want to cable tie it to the side to stop it touching the gearchange linkage...
