no power

i have just bought a 04 td5 and it seems to have very little if no power at all, below 1800 rpm and then around 2000 rpm it goes like a scolded cat i have changed the air filter and the sensor air flow meter and the breather with very little efect can anyone shed some light on the power loss i had a defender 200tdi and that pulled like a train

Try cleaning the MAP sensor.

Did you fit a genuine MAF or el-cheapo one?
 
mine was the same. somebody had disconnected it !!!!! fitted a genuine one and its a completely different car now
 
i have bought all genuine parts wow Land rover know how to fleece you of £280 as i know the disco had not been serviced for over 20,000 miles tomorrow im going to change the injector loom and give it a good oil / filter change and fuel filter change could you explain where the map sensor is as i dont have a manual yet cheers
 
thanks for the link Ratty i will do this job first tomorrow and if i get no improvement i will do the waste gate thanks for a quick response fellers
