At last I have cured my smoking problem on my 2.5td 19J, 90 CSW.
I had Diesel dripping into the air intake via the turbo when doing low speed manouvres or when idling at traffic lights etc.
When I pulled away and the turbo cut in I would get a huge engine rev with loads of black smoke ( obviously).
I was told that I needed a new turbo, or fuel pump,or engine was knackered etc.
Then I spoke to a Diesel fitter who said it was the boost pressure diaphragm, and that you can get a kit for it. I did, it cost £17.00 and I fitted it myself.
Now the Landy goes like stink. It feels like I have an extra pulling gear in the box and it now smokes like proper 19j engines should when accelerating hard.
The reason for posting this thread is to thank those of you who helped me with this problem and hopefully to help anyone else who doesn't know of this easy cure. I had read nearly every thread on the forum and never saw this one come up before.
Thanks
