The headlights on my 300 tdi haver stopped working. Bulbs OK. Fuses OK
Im not sure which relay belongs to the lights but understand they are in the passenger footwell. There are 3 identical ones there and I have swapped them around but no joy. I have taken apart the switch/stalk and in the end, tried another second hand stalk. I think it could be the stalk but my electrical knowledge is very poor and I dont know which wires to test. Could anyone tell me the colour wires to test the switch or offer any other things to look at

Light switches have been known to pack up as the take the electrical load not relays, I don't have a wiring diagram in front of me at the moment but u will find it in a Haynes manual.
U may have an earth fault but if both lamps are out that's unlikley as each has it's own pick up point, so not a common earth.

Thank you Discool
I unravelled the loom on the offside wing and found a fat wire with a burn of some sort in it. not so much like it had taken too much load, but more like something corrosive had dropped on it. it had gone through the insulation and the wire itself.
Problem solved for now unless there was a reason it burn out?
Thank you for the reply
